ShapeWars is a free browser game made by one person. Playing it means accepting the terms below. They are written plainly on purpose.
ShapeWars costs nothing and is offered without any warranty. It may contain bugs, it may go down, and matches may end unexpectedly. It is a game, played for fun, and it is not fit for any purpose beyond that.
When you play, please do not:
Player names may be filtered or changed, and players who behave this way may be removed from multiplayer, at the creator's discretion and without notice.
Player names and any other text you enter are yours. By entering them you confirm you have the right to use them and that they do not break the rules above. They are shown to other players.
ShapeWars, its code, artwork, sounds and design are the property of their creator (BAWZ), except for third-party material identified on the credits page, which belongs to the people credited there and is used with permission or under licence. You may not copy, resell or redistribute the game or its assets.
You may record, stream and publish videos of ShapeWars, including on monetised channels, and you may make fan art. No permission is needed and none will be revoked for ordinary use. Please do not present the game as your own work, and do not use it to promote gambling, cryptocurrency or hateful content.
Nothing is sold on this website. If you support the project through a crowdfunding campaign, that transaction is governed by that platform's terms and by the promises made on the campaign page, not by this page.
ShapeWars contains a large pool of names used for its AI opponents. They are used as fiction and as playful reference only. No affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement from any real person, character or brand is claimed or implied. If a name is yours and you would rather it were not in the game, say so using the contact below and it will be removed.
The game is under active development. Features may change or be removed, progress and unlocks may be reset, and the service may be suspended or discontinued at any time. These terms may also change; the date at the top shows when they last did.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the creator is not liable for any loss or damage arising from playing the game or from it being unavailable. Nothing here removes rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
These terms are governed by Swedish law.
